Welcome to World Relief Chicago!

Established in 1980, World Relief - Chicago (WR-C) has helped resettle over 15,000 refugees from Africa, Central America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southern Asia, and the former Soviet Union.

WR-C has a staff of 39 members who are fluent in 22 languages and originate from over 12 countries. The work of our team is augmented by the invaluable efforts of 325 volunteers, students and interns as well as 18 local church partners. WR-C proudly and whole heartedly assists refugees and immigrants on their journey to become fully integrated, self- sufficient and productive members of the Chicagoland community.

WR-C provides wrap-around, holistic services to refugees and immigrants.  WR-C’s resettlement program includes comprehensive resettlement, case management financial literacy classes and employment services to refugees arriving in Chicago. Immigration legal service and citizenship assistance is available to both immigrants and refugees.  WR-C also offers adult English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, in-home English tutoring, Family Literacy and an early childhood education program.   Horizons Clinic WR-C’s CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited mental health clinic provides refugees access to individual and group therapy, as well as a wide range of youth and senior programming.
